Logan County Railroad History

From the mid-19th century to the mid-20th
century the railroad was the dominant industry in Logan County.
Bellefontaine was the home of one of the largest roundhouses or
repair centers on the Big Four/New York Central Railroad. Nearly a
quarter of the people employed in Logan County worked for the
railroad. During its heyday dozens of trains stopped and came
through Logan County bring people and goods and helping connect
Logan County to the rest of the country.
Inside this room are photographs,
