Indian Lake Room


     Exhibit “From Swampland to Million Dollar Playground: Indian Lake, Ohio” showcases photos, maps, and artifacts dealing with the evolution of Indian Lake from a swamp through its time as the Lewistown Reservoir, Indian Reservation and finally into a vacation resort.
Items to note:

  • —Governor’s table —made by inmates of the Ohio Penitentiary for Gov. Vic Donahey (1923). The table is of parquet design (like pieces of a puzzle glued together) and was used by the governor in his summer home on Governor’s Island, Indian Lake.
  • —section of The Dream Bridge.
  • —Indian Lake post cards

  • —Autographed photos of Tommy Dorsey, Stan Kenton and other popular Big Band performers who played at Indian Lake

*This exhibit will change every 2-3 years highlighting various aspects of Indian Lake history.
