LOCAL MANUFACTURER OF CARRIAGES

This room chronicles the history of A J Miller, a prominent local
manufacturer of carriages & vehicles such as ambulances and hearses.
Reproductions of photographs are on display. Please take the time to
read the labels.

The far wall is set up as a period office with a manual typewriter, wall
telephone, ditto machine, adding machine & Dictaphone. It is interesting
to note that today a personal computer can accomplish all the tasks
these machines did in the past.

The museum has a 1947 Cadillac Duplex Hearse in
its collections. The hearse is in storage until the museum can build
an addition to house its larger items. There is a photo of the
hearse on the wall.
